Privacy Policy

The short version

Vessel has no account. What you create in the app stays on your device. We do not run servers that store your content, and we do not sell data.

Data on your device

Every reading you log in Vessel (blood pressure, pulse, time, arm, position, tags and notes) is stored only on your iPhone or iPad, and in your own iCloud backup if you have iCloud backup enabled. We cannot see it and cannot recover it if you delete the app. Reports and CSV files are created on your device and only leave it when you share them.

Apple Health (optional)

If you turn on Apple Health in Settings, Vessel reads blood pressure readings you allow and writes the readings you log (and pulse) to Apple Health. This data is read and written on your device only. It is never used for analytics or advertising, is never sent to our servers or to any third party by Vessel, and you can turn it off, or revoke access in the Health app, at any time.

Analytics (opt-out)

To understand which features are used and to fix problems, Vessel sends anonymous usage events (for example: a screen was opened, a purchase flow started) to PostHog, our analytics provider. Events carry a random identifier generated on your device, your app version, device model, OS version and language. They never contain the content you create (no blood pressure values, notes or Apple Health data; at most the guideline category of a reading), your name, email or precise location.

Events can include your answers to the short questions at the start of the app (for example what you want to use it for), the creator or promo code you typed and how you heard about the app, and which version of the app's screens you were shown (we test variations, including of the subscription screen). We use this under our legitimate interest in improving the app.

You can switch analytics off at any time in the app under Settings, Analytics. When it is off, no events are sent. If the app asks your age and you are below the age of digital consent where you live, analytics stay off on that device for good.

Notifications

If you allow them, reminders are scheduled on your device by the app itself. No push token is sent to us or to anyone else.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and unlock Pro. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier, your purchase receipt data and, if you entered one, the creator code (so the creator can be credited), and never your payment details. Apple processes all payments.

Children

Vessel is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Your rights

Because we hold no account and no content about you, there is little to access or erase. If you want the analytics data linked to your device identifier deleted, email us and, if you are in the EU/EEA or UK, we will handle your request under the GDPR.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
